WARNINGS
Warning 1
Occurrences of lactic acidosis (in the absence of hypoxemia), sometimes fatal, usually associated with severe hepatomegaly and hepatic steatosis, are known to occur with the use of nucleoside analogues.
Warning 2
Entecavir is substantially excreted by the kidney, and the risk of toxic reactions to this drug may be greater in patients with impaired renal function.
Warning 3
Patients with advanced liver disease or cirrhosis may be at a higher risk for hepatic decompensation following hepatitis exacerbation, and therefore should be monitored closely during therapy.
