Serious side effects, though less common, can include:

  • Allergic reactions (rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing)
  • Seizures
  • Serotonin syndrome (symptoms include agitation, hallucinations, fever, sweating, shivering, fast heart rate, muscle stiffness, twitching, loss of coordination, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea)
  • Difficulty urinating

Precautions:

  • Allergies: Inform your doctor if you have any known allergies to tramadol, paracetamol, or any other substances.
  • Medical History: Disclose your medical history, especially if you have a history of brain disorders (such as head injury, epilepsy), breathing problems (such as asthma, sleep apnea, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), liver disease, kidney disease, mental/mood disorders (such as confusion, depression, suicidal thoughts), or a personal or family history of substance use disorder.
  • Drug Interactions: Tramal-Plus can interact with other medications, potentially leading to dangerous effects. Be sure to inform your doctor about all medications and supplements you are taking.
  • Alcohol and Sedatives: Avoid alcohol and other sedatives while taking this medication, as they can increase the risk of serious side effects.
  • Driving and Operating Machinery: This medication can cause dizziness and drowsiness. Do not drive or operate machinery until you are sure you can perform such activities safely.
  • Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Use during pregnancy only if clearly needed, as it may harm an unborn baby. Tramadol passes into breast milk and may have undesirable effects on a nursing infant.
  • Dependency: Tramadol has the potential for abuse and addiction, especially if taken over a long period. Follow the prescribed dosage closely and do not take more than recommended.
