Introduction
How To Use
- Take meropenem by injection into a vein as directed by your doctor, usually every 8 hours.
- Take this product regularly to get the most benefit from it.
- To help you remember, take it at the same time each day.
- Follow the diet planrecommended by your doctor or dietician.
- Dosage is based on your medical condition and response to treatment.
- Do not increase your dose or take this product more often than directed.
Expert Advice
Avoid exposure of meropenem to excessive natural or artificial light to avoid photosensitivity. Do not increase the quantity than prescribed by the doctor. If the condition persists or worsens, or if you think you may have a serious medical problem, get medical help right away. Keep it out of the reach of children. Store it at room temperature. Keep it away from sunlight.

This medicine is used in the treatment of pneumonia (infection of lungs), Urinary tract infections (infection in either the kidney, bladder, or urethra), intra-abdominal infections (infections occurring in the abdominal cavity e.g appendicitis or fecal peritonitis), gynaecological infections (infections in the vagina or genital tract), skin infections, soft tissue infections, meningitis (inflammation of the layer covering the brain), septicaemia (blood poisoning) and febrile neutropenia (fever in patients with low white blood cells).

Pregnancy
Pregnant females should consult their doctors before using this medicine.
Lactation

Driving
Its intake has shown risk during driving therefore it can’t be used during driving.
Liver
Patients with liver diseases should consult their doctor before using meropenem.
Kidney
Patients with kidney disease shouldn’t use meropenem.
Alcohol
The use of alcohol should be limited or avoided while using meropenem.
Precautions
Patients who are allergic to meropenem or any of its components should consult the doctor before taking it. If taking any vitamins, nutritional supplements, and herbal products are taken then consult the doctor before using meropenem. Do not flush medications down the toilet or pour them into a drain unless instructed to do so. Properly discard this product when it is expired or no longer needed. If any sort of swelling is experienced, consult your doctor immediately. Taking meropenem supplements, especially in high doses, might result in kidney and liver impairment.
