How To Use

  • Progesterone tablet is for oral administration only.
  • Take it with a full glass of water.
  • This medicine should be taken with a meal.

Indications

  • Progesterone capsule is used for the following purposes:
  • Part of hormone replacement therapy in women who have passed menopause and have not had a hysterectomy.
  • To prevent abnormal thickening of the uterine lining caused by estrogen.
  • To reduce the risk of uterine cancer.
  • To regulate menstrual cycle of a woman of child-bearing age who previously had a normal cycle but stopped menstruating suddenly.

  • Heavy non-menstrual vaginal bleeding

  • White or brown vaginal discharge

Warnings

Pregnancy

Please do not drive a vehicle immediately after taking progesterone as it may make you dizzy or drowsy.

Liver

Alcohol

It is recommended to reduce your alcohol consumption when you are taking progesterone. 

Precautions

Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. Do not use it for longer than it is prescribed. Do not alter your dosage without a doctor’s approval. Avoid grapefruit and grapefruit juice while taking progesterone. Give your doctor your complete medical history especially of kidney disease, liver disease, unexplained vaginal bleeding, miscarriage, breast or reproductive organ cancer, diabetes, depression, blood lots, migraine, seizures, and gallbladder disease. Tell your doctor about all the prescription and nonprescription medications that you are taking or plan to take. Tell your doctor what herbal products you are taking. Inform your doctor that you are taking progesterone before undergoing any kind of surgery. Get out of bed slowly and rest your feet on the floor for a few minutes before standing up. Consult your doctor if your condition persists or worsens. Do not give progesterone to children unless a medical professional asks you to do so.

Contraindications

  • Do not use progesterone if you are allergic to it.
  • Progesterone is contraindicated in women who are suffering from pre-existing breast cancer, cervical cancer, endometrial cancer, uterine cancer, or vaginal cancer.
  • Progesterone should not be used in women with undiagnosed vaginal bleeding.
  • Do not use this medicine if you have had your uterus removed.
