Used For:

• Lowering intraocular pressure in patients with ocular hypertension or open-angle glaucoma.
• Managing high eye pressure to prevent optic nerve damage and vision loss associated with glaucoma.

Side Effects:

          While generally well-tolerated, Alphagan ophthalmic solution may cause some side effects, including:

• Ocular burning or stinging
• Redness of the eyes
• Blurred vision
• Dry mouth
• Eye itching or irritation
• Eye fatigue or discomfort
• Headache
• Allergic reactions (rare)

Precautions:

• Patients should be advised to avoid touching the tip of the dropper bottle to prevent contamination of the solution.
• Contact lenses should be removed before instilling Alphagan eye drops and may be reinserted after 15 minutes.
• Patients should be cautioned about the potential for drowsiness or dizziness, which may affect their ability to drive or operate machinery, especially when starting treatment.
